I have been teaching Deaf Yoga since 1999. My purpose as a teacher has always been to share yoga with those who may not otherwise easily access it. For deaf and hearing people I teach at the City Lit and within the community and provide Chair Yoga classes across Westminster. I am now teaching a number of classes online.

I am a qualified Inner Yoga Trust and British Wheel of Yoga registered teacher / practitioner. I danced from the age of four,  when Yoga moved into my life I was sixteen and I knew I was 'home'.  Though it has not always been easy for me to access as I am partially deaf. I forged a significant career in Deaf and Disability Arts. I developed a strong appreciation for equality, so when I started to teach Yoga I wanted to share Yoga with others who might not usually access it.

I have taught Deaf Yoga classes for staff members of (and most times on the premises of) DeafWorks, FYD, NDCS, Remark!, Old Church Balham, Sign Health Falcon Mews, Deaf Plus, DCAL, Oak Lodge School and the BBC.

My yoga is an expression of and has evolved from my understanding of the teachings of Sivananda Yoga, Satyananda Yoga, Yoga for Health Foundation,  Iyengar Yoga, Inner Yoga Trust - Gary Carter’s Anatomy of Yoga and teachers of Scaravelli informed yoga.   My practice responds to physical, mental / emotional needs, the seasons and moon cycles and space and place.

Specific teachers who have and do inspire me and support my practice are:  Swami Pragyamurti, Marco Cannavo, Ofra Graham, Ingrid Kottler, Gary Carter.
